Jedan je od ciklusa predavanja koje je  bilo održano  u prepunoj dvorani u ponedjeljak, 15. ožujka u gradskoj čitaonici Knjižnice u Koprivnici,  održao je  naš poznati likovni kritičar i profesor povijesti umjetnosti Marijan Špoljar. Tema predavanja je bila kako gledati sliku. Nameće nam se jednostavan odgovor:  slika je tisuću riječi, ali baš i nije tako. Ali pravi odgovor 'što je slika'? još do sada nitko nije zapravo dao, iako su se tom temom bavili psiholozi, filozofi i jezikoslovci i ostali kompetentni umjetnici, analitičari i stručnjaci. Naime, nameće se pitanje, što je zapravo slika. Po riječima Špoljara: Ona je ustvari enigma ili još bolje rečeno nedovršeni objekat. Pravi umjetnički dojam se ostvaruje u publici, odnosno on je sadržan u samom pristupu gledatelja. Slika je znak, skup kodova, poruka, neverbalna komunikacija, pojedinca ili skupine u određenom razdoblju ili epohi. Profesor Špoljar ističe da je prosječnom promatraču potrebno četrdesetak minuta da bi utvrdio smisao njenog sadržaja, te  daje  uvijek nešto novo viđeno  kada je iznova pogledamo. Slika ima svoje značenje. Naročito je bio zanimljiv dio predavanja na kojem nam je profesor dao analizu pojedinih umjetničkih djela, kojima je pristupao s nevjerojatnom lakoćom i znanjem. Tako nas je sve fascinirao. Dosta je slikara hrabro izložilo svoja djela njegovoj analizi. Ja sam smogla hrabrosti na kraju i tako dobila dobre 'kritike' za svoje djelo, što mi je veoma laskalo pred mnogobrojnom slikarskom branšom.

               

Profesor Špoljar je pravi kritičar i nema 'dlake' na jeziku, uvijek istupa u medijima, upozoravajući na ono što nije na pravom mjestu po pitanju estetike, kulture i ostalih sadržaja iz te domene. Dodao je kako će slijedeći ciklus predavanja biti s nazivom i tematikom „ od Altamire do Hlebina“, što bi također moglo biti veoma interesantno s obzirom na naslov. Prvi znakovi ili slike odnosno slikanje na zidovima pećina pojavljivale su se još u spiljama, u najranijim epohama, uglavnom su to bili motovi lova, posuđa i ljudi. Predavanju je prisustvovao i veći broj slikara likovne sekcije Podravka 72.
